Bioenergy Programs

Barratt Breathworks Institute is pleased to announce that beginning in April of 2010 we will be offering two courses in Bioenergy: "Basic Bioenergy" and "Bioenergy and Breath." Bioenergy, a technique developed by Mietek and Margaret Wirkus, is a subtle energy healing art that facilitates wellness and self-development.

Mietek and Margaret Wirkus have presented lectures and workshops on Bioenergy in sites across the country for over 20 years, including George Washington University, the Naval Hospital in Bethesda MD, the Menninger Foundation of Kansas, the Institute of Noetic Sciences in San Francisco and ISSSEEM of Boulder, CO. Thousands of laypersons and healthcare professionals alike have attended these programs and have found Bioenergy to be an essential tool in the quest for health and balance.

Both programs offer a great beginning for anyone interested in practicing Bioenergy, either personally or professionally. A progressive series of energy exercises, breathing and mindfulness practices, informal lectures, and class discussions provide an experiential framework for learning how to work with the human energy system. Emphasis is upon developing personal skills in harnessing and directing vital life energy to stimulate physical health and well-being.

As you delve into the study and practice of Bioenergy you will also discover the power of this ancient science to foster mindfulness and self-awareness. Because of this potential to enhance personal development, Bioenergy is a key component of the Barratt Breathworks model. It is an integral part of both our Breathwork Trainings and our Facilitator Apprenticeship Program.
